Help children & young people thrive
We are excited to tell everyone that this year we are taking part in the Big Give Christmas Challenge
to raise vital funds to help us support Children, Young People and Schools across East London via our Creative Schools programme. We are aiming to raise £2,700 in a week!
From noon on Tuesday 01 December until noon on Tuesday 08 December your donation will have twice the impact. Donate £20 and we’ll receive £40!
Remember, only donations made in this time will be eligible for match funding!
Your donation will allow us to raise vital funds that enabled us to support local children, young people, schools and artist. This Christmas we have the chance to ensure that this vital work continues.
Connecting schools with arts organisations uniquely by starting with the school’s particular needs. Stratford Circus consults with teachers and senior leaders and works with each individual school to match them with artists from across their network of over 50 east London based arts organisations and artists.
During lockdown, artists worked with schools to support mental health and wellbeing through fun, innovate arts projects and with many schools being forced to immediately move to online teaching, ‘Creative Schools’ was able to step in to support teachers at this incredibly isolating time.
Many schools are struggling to bring the arts and creativity into the classroom. Yet the influence that arts and cultural education can have on young people’s achievement, skills development, employability, and health has been well documented.
“Learning through arts & culture develops skills and behaviour that lead children to do better in school.” (ImagiNation; the value of Cultural Learning, Cultural Learning Alliance, 2017)
Examples of projects
Recently, schools have worked with a variety of arts companies including William Morris Gallery, Autograph ABP, Studio Wayne McGregor and London Film School.
Donate to help children and young people thrive - improving wellbeing, fuel young imaginations, creativity and learning.
We welcome support from everyone - individuals, trusts, businesses, large and small, including sponsorship and financial support, volunteering, pro-bono and support in kind.
We’d be delighted to hear from you! Contact Mia, Development Manager via email: firstname.lastname@example.org if you'd like to further support
We recognise that this is a difficult time for many people and understand that a donation may not be possible. You can also help us by spreading the word about this appeal, by sharing on your social media channels using the hashtags #ChristmasChallenge20 #TheBigGive
Funding will be raised via The Big Give Christmas Challenge, a nationwide campaign lasting seven days in the run-up to Christmas. The Big Giveplatform allows all donations to be doubled by participating charities over the allocated period. The Childhood Trust is Stratford Circus’s Champion Supporter.
