After ten years within the organisation, Tania Wilmer will be leaving Stratford Circus Arts Centre at the end of March and recruitment is currently underway for a new CEO and Executive Director.
During her five years as Director and under her leadership the organisation has built an enviable reputation for its inclusive and participatory ethos, its imaginative and ambitious artistic programming and its commitment to supporting emerging talent through its innovative creative learning programme. The charity’s turnover has seen significant growth over the last five years, supported by an increasing range of Trusts and Foundations.
Firmly established as a notable voice in east London’s arts and culture scene, Stratford Circus Arts Centre has a strong presence sub-regionally through its Creative Schools programme and nationally through its pioneering work with Future Arts Centres.
Tania Wilmer said:
“I‘m immensely proud of everything we’ve achieved here over the years, including pioneering new ways of working with schools, increasing the quality and relevancy of our artistic programme and growing our financial reserves. It has been a privilege to be part of an organisation at the heart of the community in Newham and provide access to great artistic experiences for so many. I will bid a fond farewell at the end of March to pursue new opportunities, and I look forward to seeing what the future holds for Stratford Circus Arts Centre.”
Recruitment for a new CEO and Executive Director begins this month and these two roles will work closely together to lead the organisation. As the senior leadership team, they will develop and implement future strategy to maximise Stratford Circus’s impact and to build on its reputation as a key cultural organisation locally and nationally.
