Blog: Meet our Events and Hires Manager

We got chatting to our Events and Hires Manager Tia on what a typical day for her looks like.

Talk us through your typical day

Every day is different to be honest, depending on the type of event we have on. It will usually include overseeing events and ensuring everything is running smoothly. Checking in with the front of house, bar and tech team to ensure they have everything that they need to successfully work on the events I’ve organised. Also of course responding to all enquiries, producing contracts, liaising with the finance team, managing the diary... the list goes on.

How did you get started in your career?

I think I was really lucky, I managed to secure this role in my third year of university a few weeks before graduating! I studied dance but have always been capable of producing events and so when I saw this opportunity, I just went for it!

What’s the best thing about being an Events and Hires Manager?

Working with different people every day and therefore being able to network. I meet so many amazing creatives.

What’s the most challenging thing?

It’s a lot of work to manage alone. Managing a department single-handedly unfortunately means I have to strictly prioritise a lot and pay close attention to detail. If something gets missed, it can have a big effect on a client’s event.
