Stratford Circus Arts Centre’s talented resident youth choir NewYVC welcome guest choirs from across east London for an amazing night of music with special guests the Smithsonian Jazz Masterworks Orchestra.
Made up of 17 incredible Jazz Musicians, the Smithsonian Jazz Masterworks Orchestra will play a stunning set which weaves a historical narrative of London’s influences on the evolution of jazz including a special feature of Duke Ellington’s “A Single Petal of a Rose” from The Queen’s Suite.
NewYVC is our resident high-level, open-access youth choir, made up of local singers aged 10-18 and supported by a team of Young Music Mentors aged 18-25. The choir have recently performed at the Houses of Parliament, The Southbank Centre and the Brandenburg Choral Festival.
The evening will also feature performances from the East Ham Voices, Isle of Dogs Community Choir, Solid Harmony, St Francis Primary School Choir, and Beckton Boys 4 Voice Choir.
Give a Gig
This event is part of Youth Music’s Give a Gig and all proceeds will be donated to Youth Music, a national charity investing in music-making projects that help children and young people aged 0-25 to develop personally and socially as well as musically.
There will also be an opportunity to donate on the night.
