NewYVC brings together some of East London's most talented young musicians in a dynamic programme of training and performance opportunities.

Our resident high-level, open-access youth choir is made up of local singers aged 10-18 and supported by a team of Young Music Mentors aged 18-25. Led by musical director Jane Wheeler and choral leader Naveen Arles, the choir forms the core of a singing community in East London.

The choir provides opportunities to develop singing skills learning a broad range of repertoire, with performance platforms and opportunities to train and develop leadership skills through our Young Music Mentor programme. The choir have recently performed at the Southbank Centre and the Brandenburg Choral Festival.

Linked to the choir massed singing programme NewYVC Unite works with 16 primary and secondary schools across East London. It reaches over 500 young people and their teachers through workshops, cluster rehearsals and large-scale massed performances.

We also run high-level choral teacher training sessions. The training offered is based on the CME model with levelled certification, levels 1- 3. NewYVC act as the training choir for these sessions.
